This week was the darkest week I ever experienced in NZ.
Climate Change Minister James Shaw

got attacked earlier this week on his way to parliament.

Yesterday many people died in a terrible act of terrorism in two mosques in Christchurch.
It feels the crazyness of the rest of the world has now reached New Zealand.
In all this negativity, yesterday also made me feel positive about NZ.

Countrywide protests from the remote West Coast to Northland showed that young people care about their future. In the photo I took in Cameron Street you can see the passion to act.
These young people make me confident we can overcome these acts of violence and address our key issues with creative, positive power.
I hope this message finds you & your family safe.
